FAQs

What are Proxies?

+

Proxies are layered blends of juices, teas, spices, bitters, and more with all the complexity of great wine, and none of the alcohol.

Proxies don’t necessarily taste exactly like any specific wine, but are designed to look, feel, and drink like wine. They have acidity, texture, tannin, and spice and are crafted to pair with food and be enjoyed in wine glasses. Wine, but not.

Are Proxies just wine with the alcohol removed?

+

No, Proxies are thoughtfully crafted beverages designed from the ground up to pair beautifully with food. They're not simply de-alcoholized wine, but rather a new category of non-alcoholic drinks made with high-quality ingredients to deliver complex flavors and textures.

What makes Proxies premium and expensive?

+

Proxies use premium ingredients like rare teas, fruit extracts, and botanicals sourced from around the world. The production process involves small-batch crafting, expert blending, and extensive testing to achieve the perfect balance of flavors, justifying their premium price point.

Are Proxies safe to drink during pregnancy?

+

We work hard to ensure that Proxies are free of harmful bacteria and safe for everyone to consume.

While Proxies are non-alcoholic beverages, they may contain trace amounts of alcohol, just like kombucha, or even foods containing vanilla extract. Proxies always fall below 0.5% alcohol by volume (the threshold to be classified as non-alcoholic according to the FDA and other regulatory agencies).

We are mindful that people make different choices when it comes to pregnancy, so if you’re concerned please consult your healthcare provider for more guidance.

How should I store my Proxies?

+

Proxies are best stored in a cool dark place like you would with wine. After opening, pop the cork back in and enjoy within one week.

    Big Red delivers

I LOVE this red proxie. It has the depth of a real red wine and is so full-bodied, I am completely satisfied and truly enjoy drinking this beverage. It pairs well with many foods, just like a cab or merlot would.

    Proxies Rule

I LOVE Pink Salt. I could drink it every day. I order it by the case. It's my mainstay. With food or by itself. I also dig the bubbly white & rosé cans. They're great for beach days, camping, & tailgating.

    Good alternative

Proxies are a good alternative to wine. They have complexity and balance to drink with food. Like wine, what you like is a personal preference. My all time favorite is Blanc Slate. Love the flavors with fish or chicken. My GF and mother love the bubbly cans.

One complaint is that some of the options have been way off my preferences. Back to my original statement—personal preference—but too many have been uninspired (IMh(?)O)

My advice to folks who want to reduce their wine consumption is to find a Proxy or two you enjoy and stick with those.

    Best NA wine alternative

Proxies Club service is convenient and dependable. Also the only way I can regularly get my hands on Red Ember, the best NA wine alternative I've yet tasted.

    Simply the best out there

I’ve been a customer for a while now and usually top up my monthly delivery with a few extra when there is a special offer. Never a complaint.

Seeing an advertisement on social media during Dry January, I decided to give that brand a try. I purchased a selection of three reds and finished the last bottle last night. It paled in comparison on quality and a reminder to stick with what we know works for us.

    Best Alternative

I’ve tried several Proxies products- not all but several- and have come up with my faves and my not against! Big Red and Red Ember are my two favorite reds! They keep well vacuum stoppered in the fridge for several days and are great. I also like the bubbly whites but find the other bubbly cans not drinkable to my taste. The reds will get me through the winter and will try another sampler when the weather warms again!
